June 18, 2008 on 10:48 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWhat a night!! Who thinks Christchurch is boring…wrong…it was one of the best Pecha Kucha Nights in the country so far. Cool location, wonderful mixed audience and fantastic presenters. 250 people came to SOL Square and experienced the most southern Pecha Kucha Night in the world. And after the event they didn’t all go hiding into their suburban homes, but stayed to chit chat at 4 degrees with a drink in the hand…it was creative rock ‘n’ roll.

June 18, 2008 on 9:52 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsAs part of the NZIA Architecture Congress we were guest in the Sky City Convention Centre with vol.08 and it was good to see this massive size room filled with people. Nice compliment from one of the congress participants: “the whole congress should have been in Pecha Kucha style”.

June 4, 2008 on 11:45 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsIt has been a few busy weeks with Pecha Kucha Nights around the country. Auckland , Wellington and Christchurch are now established and part of the global Pecha Kucha movement. The ones who have been could experience the potential of this format and as somebody from Christchurch pointed out, Pecha Kucha is the new Rock’n Roll for the Creatives in New Zealand (and Christchurch really rocked!).
Also as an “interdisciplinary-talking-to-each-other-tool”, Pecha Kucha was well needed in New Zealand and we want to thank all the speakers, guests and supporters for their excellent contribution through the first year. // LH
